When it comes to health care, London is definitely known as a centre of excellence.
With a world class school of medicine at Western University, London is home to the London Health Science Centre which includes Children’s Hospital, University Hospital, Victoria Hospital, the Kidney Care Centre, Byron Family Medical Centre and the Victoria Family Medical Centre. London is also home to the London Regional Cancer Program, CSTAR (Canadian Surgical Technologies & Advanced Robotics) and two research institutes – Children’s Health Research Institute and Lawson Health Research.
St. Joseph’s Health Care London is also a major patient care, teaching and research centre. It includes St. Joseph’s Hospital, Parkwood Institute, Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care and the Southwest Centre for Forensic Mental Health Care. St. Joseph’s five key role areas include acute/ambulatory care, complex care and veterans care, long-term care, rehabilitation and specialized geriatrics and specialized mental health care.

– Children’s Emergency Department at Victoria Hospital, 800 Commissioners Road East
For non-life threatening illnesses and injuries, London has a number of walk in-clinics as well as the Urgent Care Centre at St. Joseph’s Hospital, 268 Grosvenor Street which is open Monday – Friday: 8:00 am to 6:00 pm and Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
