MiWay connects with the Toronto Transit Commission, Brampton Transit, Oakville Transit and to eleven GO Transit stations. (Find out where all the major Transit stations and terminals are).

To handle Mississauga’s increasing population, the Mississauga Transitway is developing a bus system that will travel on a dedicated transitway corridor. Service started at the first four stations (Cawthra, Central Parkway, Dixie, and Tomken Stations) in November 17, 2014.

Need accessible public transportation? All MiWay buses are accessible. They are low floor, kneeling buses equipped with ramps that allow passengers to board and exit the bus. However, the Regional Municipality of Peel, which Mississauga is part of, also offers a Para Transit service “TransHelp” for people who are physically unable to board public transit vehicles due to functional mobility problems.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Trains & Busses” tab_id=”1563392785608-cbbbd098-d4d978ae-b7d2″][vc_column_text]Need to get to a job or school in, around or outside Mississauga? GO Transit operates three train lines and several GO bus routes through Mississauga that can help.

Rush-hour GO Train service runs between Milton and downtown Toronto, with stops in Mississauga in Meadowvale, Streetsville, Erindale and Cooksville.

Another line runs between Georgetown and Toronto, with stops in Brampton and Malton.

GO’s Lakeshore trains run daily between Burlington and Oshawa and extends to Hamilton at rush hour, providing all-day train service to the communities of Clarkson and Port Credit.

Outside rush hour, Union Station GO Buses take the place of GO Trains, serving the Mississauga train stations on the Milton and Georgetown lines.

Buses provide early-morning, midday, late-evening, and weekend service and also run between north Toronto and Oakville, serving Square One Shopping Centre and Erin Mills Town Centre, and between north Toronto and Brampton, serving the airport area.

Square One is also a stop on GO’s Hwy. 407 bus service to York University.

Highway 401 passes through Mississauga with six interchanges within the City.

The Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW), passes through Mississauga en route to downtown Toronto and to destinations west like Oakville, Hamilton, St Catharines and Niagara Falls.

Highway 403 connects the QEW with Highway 401 and provides an east/west link through the centre of Mississauga.

Highway 409 provides a direct link from Highways 401 and 427 to Toronto Pearson International Airport.

Highway 410 provides a link northwards from Highways 403 and 401 through the City of Mississauga to the City of Brampton.

Highway 427 is a north/south freeway system linking the City of Toronto with Mississauga and areas to the north.

Highway 407, an all-electronic toll road, is an east-west highway which travels across the northern and western boundaries of Mississauga. This multi-lane highway spans the northern section of the Greater Toronto Area from Highway 403 in Oakville to Highway 48 in Markham.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Air” tab_id=”1563392917926-d8eb387e-09fc78ae-b7d2″][vc_column_text]Mississauga is the actual home of Lester B. Pearson International Airport, one of Canada’s major airports that accounts for about one-third of all air traffic in Canada. The Credit Valley Hospital, located at 2200 Eglinton Avenue West, Mississauga, is a 382-bed acute care inpatient facility, featuring a regional cancer and ambulatory care centre, a 24-emergency care centre, and a regional women’s and children’s health centre featuring an advanced level 2 neonatal intensive care unit and the largest paediatric oncology satellite program in Ontario outside of the Hospital for Sick Children.

Mississauga Hospital located at 100 Queensway W., Mississauga (Queensway & Hurontario) has the largest 24-hour Emergency Centre in Canada and is one of the busiest in the country. It is also frequently the starting place for access to many regional programs including Stroke, Neurosurgery, Cardiac and Sexual Assault & Domestic Violence Services. The Mississauga location also houses the largest concentration of critical care services in Canada including Intensive Care, Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care and Coronary Care.

For non-life threatening illnesses and injuries, Trillium’s Queensway Health Centre located at 150 Sherway Drive, off the West Mall, south of The Queensway, and across the street from Sherway Gardens Shopping Centre features a daily 14-Hour Urgent Care Centre, (8:00 am and 10:00 pm) plus many other day surgery and outpatient programs.

For those in need of help in finding a family physician, Health Care Connect (1-800-445-1822) may be able to help. The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) also has an online database that maintains a list of medical doctors authorized to practice medicine in Ontario.

Mississauga is home to over 30 private schools providing programs such as Advanced Learning, English as a Second Language (ESL), Montessori, technical and vocational skills, and religion.

For individuals seeking a post secondary education, or who want to pursue continuing education opportunities, there are a number of great opportunities. Mississauga is home to the University of Toronto Mississauga, as well as to Sheridan College’s newest Campus: the Hazel McCallion Campus.

Sheridan’s Hazel McCallion Campus, located in downtown Mississauga at 4180 Duke of York Blvd is home to the Faculty of Business (The Pilon School of Business).

U of T Mississauga offers traditional undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programs. U of T Mississauga also offers a range of continuing education programs either for online study or in more traditional classroom formats.

Mississauga is also in within commuting distance of a wide range of other academic institutions, may they be in Toronto, Oakville, Brampton, Guelph, or Hamilton.
